This was a busy and exciting weekend at the brewery. Thanks for all of you that came out on Friday for the Happy Hour and the unveiling of THE QUAD - our 8.7% Belgian Quad brewed with grains of paradise.
Our Coffee Stout has been racked over to the conditioning tank and dosed with coffee. With a little luck from the brewing gods, it will be ready for this Friday's Happy Hour.
We also brewed the South City Brown and our ESB to be on tap soon!!
For the true beer geeks out there, we finally hit our 95% efficiency consistently this weekend. It's just awesome when brew days go exactly as planned.
Now, for the moment you have all been waiting for: The Chocolate Cherry Stout is finally done aging!! This beer started with a 8.0% Foreign Extra Stout which we aged in a reconditioned cabernet barrel for 4 months. At 2 months, we added 4.4# of Scharffenberger 100% cocao powder and 2 quarts of Montmorency Cherries from King's Orchard. It's been racked into conditioning tanks and bottles are being ordered. We are on track to have them ready to go for the Grand Opening on February 16th for all of you Barrel and Brewer's Circle members!!
Here is how this all works. We will announce the release and members will have 2 weeks to pre-order their beer at their special member pricing (6 bottle minimum). We will hold a release event to invite you all to attend for the unveiling and tasting of the beer. Members can pick up their preorders and order any additional bottles they want.
After the event, the Chocolate Cherry Stout will be available to the public for purchase through the tasting room.
